Researchers and PhD students interested in the modeling of economic and financial systems characterized by nonlinear interactions among the variables

The NED conference will be attended by international experts in the field of complex dynamical systems in Economics and Finance, where the interactions of heterogeneous subjects may create nonlinear relationships among the variables.

The distinctive element of the NED conference is the connection between the questions raised by economists and the tools supplied by mathematicians to build and solve models in order to give some qualitative answers to those questions.

The main objective of the conference is the sharing of the current research works of the participants. In this way, all researchers can receive some feedback to improve their work and young Phd students can learn from the expertise of Senior researchers working in the same field of interest, and Senior researchers can take advantage of the new ideas of young researchers

Another goal of the conference is to provide a platform for an interdisciplinary exchange among researchers interested in nonlinear economic dynamics. Conference topics include:

  • complex processes in economics and finance modeled by nonlinear dynamical systems (smooth and piecewise smooth, continuous and discontinuous, in discrete and continuous time, with delay, etc.);
  • related topics in evolutionary game theory;
  • dynamics of systems with adaptive expectations, social interaction, learning mechanisms, heterogeneous agents;
  • behavioral economics models, structural change and growth models, new economic geography models.

See the attached program.

The conference will take place from 13th to 15th September 2021 at the Università Cattolica Milan Campus, address: Largo Gemelli, n. 1, Milan- Italy

We plan to create two morning sessions and two afternoon sessions. One session will be devoted to contributions related to models coming from Behavioral Economics or Finance, while another session will be at the same time a session of the NED Conference and a Special Session of the XLV A.M.A.S.E.S.
