DESCRIPTION OF THE COURSE
Under the patronage of the European Federation of Animal Science (EAAP) and the Italian Association for Animal Production (ASPA), the Summer School focuses on Systems Biology, an interdisciplinary field that combines biology, mathematics, computer science, and engineering to analyze complex biological systems. Systems Biology is a scientific approach that studies the interactions between the components of a biological system, aiming to understand the overall functioning of the system rather than analyzing its parts individually. Participants will explore both theoretical and applied approaches, including computational models, multi-omics analysis, and biological network simulations. In particular, topics such as genomics, epigenomics, transcriptomics, and metabolomics will be covered, enabling the integration of different levels of information to gain a more comprehensive view of biological processes.

OBJECTIVE:
The course is designed for PhD students and young researchers with the goal of providing a solid theoretical and practical foundation in Systems Biology. Through an interdisciplinary approach, participants will develop skills in using bioinformatics tools for the analysis of complex biological data, essential for studying large-scale biological systems. A key aspect of the course will be the development of interpretation and modeling skills for biological systems, enabling participants to integrate different data sources to gain a deeper understanding of biological processes. Finally, the program aims to foster interaction between young researchers and experienced scientists in the field, creating an environment for discussion and collaboration that encourages new ideas and innovative research approaches.
MAIN PROGRAM:
The advanced training course is organized at the Gasparini Residence - Strada dell'Anselma,9 - Piacenza, from JuLY 14 to July 19, 2025, for a total of 45 hours: including lectures and practical sessions.
Participants will be guided by a team of expert tutors, including:
