DESCRIPTION:

Winter School – Edition 4 is part of the PM-PRO – Project Management Proficiency project, funded by the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+ 2 - Action 1 - Education and Training 2021-2027), ref. P.A. 2024-22235/RER, submitted in response to notice RER - DGR 825/2024 of 14/05/2024.

This course offers an in-depth introduction to the principles of project management. Through the use of advanced tools and methodologies, the course examines the fundamentals of strategic planning, ensuring continuous alignment with the organization’s strategic goals. By adopting an integrated approach that combines strategic vision with operational skills, participants will develop the knowledge and capabilities needed to successfully manage complex projects, support organizational development, and maintain a competitive advantage in rapidly evolving environments.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:

  • Recent graduates who wish to acquire specific training in Project Management.
  • Professionals who wish to improve their project management skills for career advancement and/or better management of complex projects.
  • Researchers and doctoral students who need Project Management tools to plan and manage complex and multidisciplinary research projects.
  • Unemployed or underemployed individuals who wish to train in Project Management.

Admission requirements (mandatory)

To participate in the training program, you must meet at least one of the following requirements:

  • Be enrolled at a university recognized by the MIUR or an AFAM institute based in Emilia-Romagna;

or

  • Be a resident or domiciled in Emilia-Romagna, with residence or domicile prior to the date of enrollment.

Obiettivi

OBJECTIVE:

The course aims to provide participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to successfully tackle the challenges of project management, with a particular focus on:

  • Projects and Strategy: understanding the strategic role of projects in organizations, managing the complexity of modern project environments, and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Strategic Planning in Projects: developing a strategic approach to integrating projects into organizational objectives, applying analysis and planning models for effective management.
  • Project Management: acquiring a solid foundation of knowledge on the principles of project management, from the phases of the project life cycle to quality, risk, and resource management. Particular attention will be paid to leadership, team collaboration, and the intercultural aspects of project management.
  • Operational and Professional Skills: interpret and address project-oriented organizational contexts, developing skills in project management methodologies, techniques, and software tools. The course also prepares participants to enter the job market in public and private organizations, working in cross-functional areas in roles such as project team member, junior project manager, project manager assistant, and other related professional positions.
  • IPMA certifications: providing targeted preparation for IPMA certifications (Introductory Certificate and IPMA Level D), offering the knowledge necessary to successfully pass the exams and enhance one's professional profile in project management.

Thanks to this integrated structure, the course combines theoretical study and practical application, preparing participants to successfully face the challenges of project management in complex and dynamic contexts.

Programma

MAIN PROGRAM:

The Winter School will be held mainly in person at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Piacenza, from February 2 to March 7, 2026. The advanced training course, structured with innovative teaching methods, guarantees dynamic and engaging learning for a total of 60 hours, divided as follows:

  • 40 hours of in-person lessons, from February 2 to 6;
  • 5 hours of synchronous distance learning (FAD), on February 21 and 28;
  • 15 hours dedicated to project work, scheduled for February 20 and 21.

The teaching activities combine theory and practice to offer a comprehensive and applicable training experience.

The program includes:

  • Interactive lectures: theoretical sessions led by experts, enriched by opportunities for discussion and dialogue to explore key concepts in depth.
  • Practical workshops: hands-on activities aimed at applying the knowledge acquired, with exercises that simulate real project management scenarios.
  • Case study analysis: examination of real or simulated business situations to develop analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Project work: development of a final project that allows participants to put their acquired skills into practice, simulating the management of a complex project in a collaborative environment.

Thanks to this integrated structure, the training course combines theoretical study and practical application, preparing participants to successfully face the challenges of project management.

HOW TO REGISTER:

The course is free of charge, with mandatory registration, for participants who meet the admission requirements. The PM-PRO project (2024-22235 RER) is funded through PR FSE+ 2021/2027 Priority 2. Education and Training funds.

Participants will be admitted in order of registration, up to a maximum of 45 participants.

Each training module will only be activated once a minimum number of 14 participants has been reached.

To complete your registration correctly, you must:

  1. Download the self-certification form from the Download section;
  2. Fill it in completely;
  3. Attach it to the online registration form.

Deadline for enrollment in the Winter School, subject to availability: January 25, 2026.

Registrations missing one or more required elements (missing fields or self-certification form not attached) will not be considered valid.

Additional conditions

  • Reservations are binding: once registration is complete, participation is considered confirmed and binding.
  • As this is a funded course, participants agree to be available, approximately six months after the end of the course, to respond to our calls to complete the final questionnaires required by the Emilia-Romagna Region for quality monitoring purposes.
